The stump and thing coming out is fake, the other one in the middle is real (Elodea Anacharis). I am considering adding things but not quite sure what yet, maybe hermit crabs. Eventually I want to go full bioactive. Already added springtails for the substrate.

I used to have a reptile zoo in my 20s & I always enjoyed setting up the enclosures like this. Are you using coconut mulch for substrate?

The only advice I can give about having a water basin in there is keeping it enclosed in a plastic tub that you can pull out for easy cleaning. I had 2 snakes that always shat in the water without a miss.

Yeah it’s coconut mulch and sphagnum moss. I probably should have done something better with the water. Its going to be a nightmare to maintain. There is a pump down there though, hopefully that keeps it cleaner longer.

Just an idea, you could make a mold out of plywood & vacuum form an acrylic insert using a shopvac & a heat gun.

So why have you built your terrarium tall and skinny? Or is there a bunch of width to the terrarium to the left I cannot see? Just seems like it would be very hard for him to stretch out.

Nice. I would do that with my red tail also... when he got board or cold he would come up the back steps and through the cat door and put himself away in the terrarium.
