How dangerous are hippos? The hippopotamus is a very aggressive wild creature and is the deadliest large land mammal on the planet. It's a Polar/Grizzly Hybrid mix and I "think" their numbers are up to 4,500 now in the Arctic Circle...when I was inquiring about a Polar Bear hunt back in 2019 the info package had a segment on these bears, which I did not know existed, and they are protected (for now but their number's are exponentially increasing)...hunters are warned not to shoot unless being attacked and to stay as far away as possible because these bears have no temper control, extremely vicious...but these bears have some pretty unique colour patterns in their fur....BUT...I'd never shoot another Black bear.
