People who love the ocean and surfing and the like love to espouse that shark attacks on humans are very rare.

Shark attacks on humans occur way WAY more often than is commonly accepted. It’s not a huge amount of death (like the number of toddlers who drown in swimming pools - “You don’t NEED that swimming pool, citizen”) but it does happen quite a bit more than people would know.

People fishing "provokes" sharks to enter the area seeking food. Any subsequent shark activities are therefore classified as provoked, for the purposes of studying shark behaviors.

They're not saying he was poking the shark with a stick.

I'm not sure why the image of sharks would need to be protected.

I just watched a woman get out and walk around her car in a safari park, then get dragged away by a huge lion as she talked to someone in the drivers seat. People do indefensible things all day long.
