Windows 10 is horrid. Stay as far away as you can, unless you LIKE the following: Ads, spyware, file deletion at Microsoft's discretion, word processing has thought police built in to make sure you are politically correct and LGBT nigger friendly, when you tell it to turn off it will sit there for an hour against your will and install updates you didn't ask for that will fuck up your drivers. It has an unprecedented amount of telemetry that watches your every move. Oh and a pajeet is running the company. I could go on and on but these are some of the important points.
I recommend staying with 7. Or linux. Or shedding yourself away from society and living in a deep dark cave with ample provisions to sustain you for large swaths of time.
11 is worse. The interface has so many bugs with the rollover text you have to click two or three times to hit what you want. (Not to mention the telemetry)
After 7, Windows began shipping with spyware baked into the OS, acting like your hardware belongs to Microsoft, and routinely treating the user with open contempt.
Pain in the ass to start, but long run will be better.
It plays most games, but anything that doesn't work or works poorly have a Win10 drive as well, it's dog shit but if you break it enough with things like debloater it can be usable.
There is this "mod" i guess you'd call it, https://atlasos.net. I have not tried it yet, but might since my shop PC runs Windows 10. I do have Spybot Antibeacon running on that machine, so far never been bugged about updates, and appears to make it more private.
If you're on Windows 7, get a solution going sooner than later because Steam is cutting support for (translation: won't run on) Windows 7 in 240-some days. Even if you don't use that particular service, a big player like that is a sign that the rest are going to follow suit and your device is soon going to be made useless for gaming.
Steam is just the canary in the coal mine. If they're officially dropping Windows 7, then expect a lot of the publishers that do business with them to follow suit. And, yes, it's faggy that they force you to use a launcher instead of just serving as a marketplace for standalone .exe's, which has yielded them way too much sway over the industry; I prefer GOG.
Well it's been a hell of a run, and I got really good at these things, but it looks like I'll just not be using windows anymore once 7 becomes useless. Fuck Microsoft and their new woke spyware OS's.
Fuck I don't want to switch to linux. I've given linux many tries over the decades... and it always ALWAYS is a pain in the ass to use because at any point in time you may have to drop down to a command prompt and search the web for hours to find a command that looks like Klingon speak that's 541 characters long to turn on your wifi card. I've got better things to do with my time than become a goddamn PhD in recompiling the fucking kernel of my OS.

If you HAVE to use it, use the LTSC version. It's still bad, but significantly less so.

Oh, you just reminded me of that Windows authenticator bullshit in XP.
Heh, I'm not even sure I ever owned a single, legit copy, truth be told.

It's specifically tailored for gamers, so I'm counting on it being dumbed down a bit for casuals like myself.

Some new stuff and anti cheat software messes up but fuck those companies for using it in the first place.
Unless your company forces you into windows keep that shit off your home pc.

Are you using win7 now? Win10 is a bit worse, but lots of privacy violations.
Need it for games? work? etc. Some programs are definitely more supported by windows.
If there isn't a pressing need for anything windows specific, give some live distros a try. See if you like it.
