There are no small trucks anymore. The S10 and Ranger are gone. The new Ranger and Colorado/Canyon are damn near full size trucks. The jeep outperforms them in towing and carrying capacity. Your only other small truck option is foreign, and they are not that small now, either.

However, those are expensive and jeep hasn't had it's shit together in at least a decade.

It's not an option worth mentioning. You're stuck with no power and cvt unless you pay a lot more. They're also much larger than an S10 or old style ranger, damn near the new Ranger or Colorado. I'm talking about overall footprint, not height. Maybe that was unclear?

The Maverick is the same width and length as a Fusion. Its a car truck...unlike the old Rangers which were just small trucks.

The 2.0L turbo is fun...in my car...no way that thing is "hauling" or "towing" much.

V6 to v6, the Ford made more power despite 0.3 liters less engine. More than enough to pull a trailer with a sxs or small tractor etc. The maverick has a larger footprint than both of them.

Only person I've ever met in real life to drive a vehicle like this was a shop chief in the air force. He was a 5'4" manlet who would raise hell if any of his food touched on his plate. He got a mcgoyslop burger that had ketchup on time. He looped back to the McGoy's which took us 15 minutes to go less than a mile due to traffic.
