I remember it being reported in the news the time and being somewhat controversial. What is weird to me is that everyone just seems to have forgotten that it was ever discussed. I specifically remember that the best excuse the government stooges could come up with for the change was something like, “US service members are demanding it so they can listen to US Armed Forces radio when they return to the United States.”
