It is way out in the southern ass end of Brooklyn and far from Manhattan and with a lot of public housing. In NYC, most of your beautiful and accomplished people are in Manhattan. Then the trendier parts of North and West Brooklyn in close proximity to Manhattan and then Queens. Lot of mutants in some more remote parts of the 5 boros like Coney Island and Far Rockaway. However, when a place is remote but also not near a lot of trains and buses, it is good. Throggs Neck and City Island in the Bronx are good examples of that. Whitestone and Malta in Queens. Great neighborhoods and kind of remote

Walk around Grammercy, the West Village, the
Meatpacking District or the Flatiron area after 8PM Thurs-Saturday nights when they’re out clubbing and barhopping. It’s crazy. A lot of them are made up and wearing evening gowns and shit like they’re at the Oscars.

Never been, but being from the left coast with everything the Bay Area has to offer, I feel the same way. I would really like to go into San Francisco for some authentic chop suey, much like an authentic “pie” where you are, but I can’t, and won’t.
