Desantis has been very effective in splitting the conservative base. His supports will not vote for Trump and we will not vote for Desantis. IMHO Desantis is a tool of the people behind the scenes. He will get the nomination and lose as is intended. Trump voters will get the blame and then you will have liberals and half of former conservatives out after us.
At least he will wait until after the primary. Every candidate on both sides moderates after being nominated. Trump already went left and is ridiculing Florida for the 6-week abortion ban. He is upset Disney lost their exemption (no one else had in the state). And guess who just made several big donations to Trumps PACs- Bob Iger and several board members. Trump Jr wants us to forgive bud light, and be tolerant of the people with gender dysphoria….
And you are right, OP about trump and DeSantis voters not voting for the other one. Trump supporters are ok with his personnel decisions like Kushner, Sessions, Tillerson, Comey, Mueller, Lewandowsky (sp), Bannon, Hannity, Haley. They are ok with complete lack of moral character- having dozens of affairs with women and multiple marriages. He could’ve ended the whole Russian collusion crap by declassifying- same with the Clinton investigations- but he didn’t because he wants the publicity and to be martyred.
DeSantis was a tea party/ freedom caucus member when he was in congress. He campaigned against MConnell and McCarthy for leaders. He is anything but a RINO or a part of the Republican establishment. He actually vets his team and doesn’t simply appoint the most loyal lemming. The Bushes hate him for beating their hand picked candidate in 16 (who is now a lobbyist). But like the parasites they are, they are attempting to latch on.
Either way it’s a vote for Israel, so nothing will change but the name…
