Realistically they want a nation of renters, not property owners. Property ownership (along with the 2A) has always been the primary stopping block for the (((international elites))) to impose full communism on the US. Now if you don't pay your taxes on the property they can take it from you, and they will. But suppose you pay off house you're in. I bet you can work as a Walmart greeter or McDonalds and make enough to cover the taxes each year. Housing is the biggest piece of anyone's income and once you have a free and clear place (and with most states protecting primary residents from lawsuits) you can pretty much be in a "Fuck you" position. They can't make private property ownership illegal but they can make it so no one can afford it.
I paid 102k for my first house and lived there about 10 years. Now it’s worth 700k. But that’s Austin prices, which are crazy. Anywhere else, the house is worth about 350k.
I would not have been able to afford that same home as a starter, in this market.
1st, builders don't build starter homes because there is no money in it. 2nd, why would you want to live in those expensive cities listed in the article? 3rd, people need to temper their expectations in this crazy market and buy a fixer-upper. 4th, yes, this market is insane and totally manipulated to screw people over. 5th, life is hard, but our pioneer ancestors lived in sod huts and log cabins, so let's be thankful for what we have.

If it has a building on it, USDA loans are 0% down. You don't even need any cash down.
Stop trying to live in a major city. Those places are wastelands anyway.

they can change zoning on a whim and steal your land, then give you a few wooden nickels and claim it was fair compensation
