Anybody with experience using a Navage sinus wash?

submitted by bobdole9 to AskUpgoat 1.9 yearsJun 15, 2023 12:54:59 ago (+3/-0)     (AskUpgoat)

I am incredibly skeptical, however the summer of smoke is giving me sinus infections. Rather than sit and blow colors out of my face, I'm wondering if the sinus washer lives up to the hype.

Be careful as your nose does a great job filtering the bacteria and other things that can get up deep into your sinuses. If you then flush all that stuff up deep into your sinuses next to your brain it can give you meningitis and brain swelling and cause your death.

Don't be washing up there with water. Always blow out not put stuff up there

I use it if I start to feel I'm getting sick. Sometimes I catch it early enough that I don't end up getting sick. The only downfall of shoving water in your nose is that it can take a long time to drain completely.

I'm skeptical by the "force" of it...I want the ability to get EVERYTHING out. Does it truly work "as advertised" where the saline is sent through one nostril and sucks it through the other nostril?

For comparison, have you used netipots or other "manual" saline rinses?

Yup. In one nostril, out the other. I usually do one side and then the other. It does what it says in the tin. Of course if you are severely stuffed up it may have some trouble.

I have a neil med neti pot and it's great. I'll give credit where it's due to tech support for a great invention on this one.

Don't get that gross shit. Get a Neil Med sinus rinse. It's basically a newer version of a neti pot. Use distilled water. I love it, feels so refreshing. If pollen count is high, I use it. If I mow the grass, I use it, etc. Even got the kids started using their own. https://www.neilmed.com/usa/

Do you use the mechanism or just the saline spray cans?

I used the mechanism at first (it's just a squeeze bottle with a straw leading to the bottom), but then I quickly ordered regular squeeze bottles from Amazon and simply buy the salt/baking soda packs by themselves.

...here's what I do, and I do it all the time, periodically with a splash of sea salt. Cup your hands so that they'll contain a few ozs of water and then inhale the contents into your nasal cavity (not your lungs) and hold it there for maybe a 5 count, make sure it's clean pure spring water without fluoride etc, and then blast your hork out through your nostrils...once usually works good but if really clogged up do it twice. Once in morning and then at night before bed. Saunas are best though with cedar or balsam boughs on the rocks, when water is splashed on the rocks the steam sifts through the boughs and will fill your entire breathing system...your nasal will drip heavy then clean out after you force hork the contents.
FYI...here's what I did religiously while in the Caribbean and it was the best, I'd dive into the salted sea water and it would naturally force fill my nasal to which after I surfaced I blast-hork my airway, but you need warm ocean water for that.
Fuck the (((gimmicks))), and in all honesty I've never seen anything so stupid as a halfwit in a "navage" commercial...the kikes really know how to make White people look stupid.
I shit you not about my nasal cleansing, I've had several broken noses and one smash face injury from my hockey days that pretty much changed the way I breathe (but not through my mouth)....a clean nasal passage is everything to me.

Once in morning and then at night before bed

Ultimately need to get back to this. Usual method is a steam shower, but its miserable in the summer...cold water doesn't vaporize quite the right way.

I've never seen anything so stupid as a halfwit in a "navage" commercial...the kikes really know how to make White people look stupid.

Its garbage Photoshop on top of it...its just the most "recognized" brand I could think of. The perk is if I slack and my allergies are bad, maybe mechanical assistance is better than blowing my eardrums out.

Yeah I know but there's simpler ways to maintain health...hey, my nose and breathing system is totally fucked but the methods I stated got me through the last 50 years...just a side note here, I was 15 years old and hockey was my life, I took a pass at the opponents blue line and thought I had clear route to the goal but what I didn't catch was the guy coming off the bench and when my head went up I blew straight into that guy's elbow and I was moving at light speed...when I came to I was on the stretcher face down to prevent drowning in my blood, my fucking nose was smashed...my old man was ragging at the ref for the opposing team having to many men on the ice, I also swallowed my 2 front teeth and had a smash gash over my eyebrow...but played the next day to finish the tournament, which we came in 3rd...but try the salt water, it works.

Neti pots are better imo because one should never apply suction to their nostrils.

Neti pots have always worked for me, even after forest fires in Southern commiefornia.

Always use distilled water, or you'll die from ameobas eating your brain.
