HEAVY HEAVY SMOKE TODAY....

submitted by Zyklonbeekeeper to HDLunited 1.9 yearsJun 25, 2023 17:22:01 ago (+11/-0)     (HDLunited)

....from where I am here, shores of Lake Superior, the smoke from the bush fires 150 miles away, is like a thick fog that the sun just barely cuts through. Sitting on my deck last night I wolfed down a bowl of strawberries, (I love strawberries, in fact, "Strawberry" was a nickname given to me by my MC Bros back in the day)and I left the bowl outside on the table. This morning that bowl was half filled with rain water which was dirty from the atmospheric smoke. It left a gray skim on the surface and collected on the bowl's side that had to be scrubbed off.

I'm sure there's no adverse health effects from this smoke because, unlike cigarette packages, there's no "Surgeon General" warning labels attached to the clouds.

UPDATE FROM THE TIME OF INITIATING THIS POST...this fucking smoke has just
gotten thicker...FUCKING WOW.

Even my bears are reacting in a different way to this smoke, obviously it's hindering their sense of smell. They're not moving around like they usually do, they're pretty much docile into their own little plot of bush, they don't even want to play.

AND IT'S ALL DRIFTING INTO MICHIGAN'S U.P.

All these fires were planned along time ago look at the Denver Airport murals. Also they are caused by DEWs. Millions around the world are being Tortured, Tormented, and, Killed with top secret weapons. Help end the evil Visit www.minds.com/group/1297203399997001743/feed

@Talker...there's no doubt in my mind that these fires are deliberately set, there's no logical reason as to why or how they ignited...no lightening, no careless campers and no "known" arsonists and it's got people wondering...I'm going with government arson.

Yes and look into all the food and farm facilities that have been burned down. Tons of food also being thrown away while prices keep increasing.

Same here somewhere between Renfrew & Pembroke, it was like driving through fog all day. I only had the lawn to do today so I've been enjoying the AC mostly.

I take it none of the recent rains have done much to help tamper down the fires?

We just got a major rain last night so we'll see what happens

North shore of lake Huron here. I can confirm that the smoke is brutal today. There are no clouds, but it seems like an overcast day. Sure hope the forecast thunderstorms tonight actually come and clean the air a bit.

...this haze is so thick that it looks like cloud cover

I would recommend duct-taping a 25" X 25" HEPA furnace filter to the back of a box fan and running it in a room where you spend time.
This has worked for me in the past when there was a matter of particulates affecting air quality.

...oh my wife has the house sealed shut.

I've done that before with one of those 20"x20" filter hepa filters. I had to tape two box fans together to pull enough air through it to be effective.

And, the fan won't overcome the filter.
