Hello and welcome to another Friday Night Guitar Thread! Like normal, we'll go ahead and get you started.

I haven't shared this in a while, but it's one of my favorite recordings. It's also one of my favorite songs.

GnR Welcome To The Jungle (EH #1; J B; TB #2 & P)

How can anyone not like that song?!? I think we gave it a solid treatment. It's filed outside of the usual folders, so it's seldom enjoyed by other people. So, I figured I'd share it here tonight. After all, it's not like I have anything new!

And, yeah, it's a great song. I think we did okay covering it. Glad ya liked it.

It was uploaded early on, before I started putting things in folders. There are links to it, so I can't just move it easily. That means it hasn't really been shared much. One of these days, I should upload it to the appropriate folder and leave the copy there for the sake of older links.

Great work! It's not as raw sounding as their original recording, but it's still great! I like Slash's work with Miles Kennedy a lot also. Miles is a much better singer, but G-N-R songs have a that certain attitude that made them great too.

Wow! Great stuff! I'm both impressed and jealous. It seems pretty well put together and your playing is great. One of my first goals is to make a track, with just the guitar, that sounds good all the way through like you guys do. Then I hope to add leads to most of my current recordings. Last would be a piece like this. Great work!

I get a 0 this week for recording. It's well started, but not finished enough to even share the progress. I did get all the parts practiced and the sounds I want dialed in, and also learned quite a bit on how to use the new program. I haven't learned how to make it utilize my USB microphone. When I switched to Audacity and started to use it, the damn thing crashed when I hit the record button. LOL

I want to get at least 1 more ready before I move out of the hotel. I will return once I get everything set back up, but I don't know where or when that will be yet.

I can relate to getting too fucked up to record.

It is possible for me to be too inebriated to play - at all. Then, there's a level of inebriation where I don't really play all that well. It can be a fine line, but I've reached the point where I'm pretty good at telling where I am on the spectrum.

That riff is pretty catchy! Pretty cool. I wish there was more to the song, like a musical break or something different thrown in there somewhere.

I was watching the movie CBGB, about the beginnings of Punk Rock and the night club CBGB, this week and thought that some of your stuff would make great punk songs. I'm not sure that would be the most successful marketing strategy, but I still listen to new punk songs when I find them.

Putting out punk songs worked for Green Day!

I don't think of my music as punk, I just think I am writing rock and roll songs when I write a song. I think it's my crappy singing voice that makes it sound punk. but nobody out there really sings like me, it really gives it a uniqueness.

I have been thinking of trying to get one of them AI things to sing some songs of mine in the voice of a famous singer. I would love to have Axl Rose sing a song of mine or Brian Johnson or Bon Scott, or Ozzy or Dio sing one. That would be crazy, and apparently it is entirely possible now with the AI and computers and the ever evolving nature of that world.

This happens to me everyday after taking the pain medication, so it's a bitch trying to get that perfect time to record stuff. I could only drink about 2 beers while playing live. It always affected my fine motor skills too much. The weed was OK, unless I had too much and then it affected the quick thinking skills. LOL

I try not to think when I am playing, except about what I have to do, sometimes my mind wanders and I forget where I am at in the song!

I can relate to that. It seems harder changing the rhythm at the right spots when the song is really stripped down during the recording process. Live, I was always trying to get the right effects setup for the next song or remembering to sing some back up vocal parts.
