What's the best way to glue shoes together?

submitted by MaryXmas to AskUpgoat 2.0 yearsJul 1, 2023 18:32:18 ago (+2/-0)     (AskUpgoat)

I just got a pair of leather soled boots gone and the glue broke. Any recommendations? Also need some glue for some made in China trainers that are already splitting at the sole.

I use shoe goo and then brush on rubber coating around the sole where it meets the leather. Makes them last forever.

Hm.. Gonna have to give that a try, I've got a pair of leather sandals that are de-laminating.

Gorilla Glue is pretty bad-ass.

To repair shoes, use shoe goo.

To glue shoes together, apply glue to both soles, then clamp the soles together to maximize contact. They'll be very difficult to separate.

Take them to someone and have the soles sewed on. I do all my boots like that anyway.

Last time it was a jew and he used a glue stick instead of shoe glue.
