Salt water. Drop those batteries in a vat of salt water. Let them sit until the stored charge is depleted. Then they can be safely disposed of. I fly model airplanes that use high voltage batteries. When those batteries become inefficient. I cut off the leads and drop them in a bucket filled with water and mix in salt. A lot of salt. They become inert blocks of lithium

You expect diversity hires to figure that one out?

Rapidly depreciating values mean the cost of replacing a battery outweighs the cost of the car after just one year, leaving insurers no choice but to scrap the car, it said.

The same insurers who are obsessed with the environment and global warming I imagine?

It’s kinda like apple saying they don’t put chargers in the box cause they want to be green so instead they create a whole new package and actually create more trash

Supposedly car insurance rates are about to double next year. One of the reasons is many of these cars are too expensive to repair so they have to Total them after relatively minor accidents. Not to mention the cost of new cars has gotten to be astronomical.

Double for everyone or just EV owners?

I'd buy an electric side by side for running around on the farm.
As long as I generated enough excess electricity myself.

But yeah otherwise no.

I say it again, when the US defends its soil with electric tanks regularly, then I may consider getting an electric car.

When its guaranteed that the battery holds at least 15 years and can be charged in less than 20 min.

Buy a petrol car and you'll get a body that will last at least thirty years. And of course plenty of cars over fifty years old exist in great condition.

An engine 20 years minimum.

OK keep that in mind.

By an ev and it's power source dies around five years to maybe ten.

And that car is now beyond economical repair.

With a mint condition body.

Needing scrap...

Saving the planet..

Exactly.

I don’t have a problem with electric vehicles I have a problem with them trying to force us to buy electric vehicles. Also yes the price of replacement batteries which you will need is fucking insane. You could buy a whole new car for the cost
