We called it goats. Now just wait a few more years until your savings has an expiration date and social credits determine what you are allowed to purchase.
I see at some point ratcheting up the pressure on cash-holders by imposing some kind of tariff, either at the point of transaction or delivery, with the revenue going to subsidize electronic transfers currently paid by the retailer, essentially rewarding those customers and businesses who participate in the beast system at the expense of the holdouts. It is said that you will have to willingly take the mark, so they can't just force it on you, therefore, the pressure tactics.

Bank reduced to a computer server and customer service outsourced to India I'm sure. At some point they'll probably outsource cash distribution to something like Brinks or better yet a Uber cash delivery service. Before you know it there'll be a government regulation keeping the bank's cash delivery records private while Uber's records will be publicly available unless you are aware enough to go into the settings menu and change the default like with Venmo.
One of the local credit unions has locations with zero staff. You have to access an ATM-like terminal and interact with a remote representative to get any service.
The Teachers Federal Credit Union branches in Austin did this. I switched to Randolph Brooks credit union over that bullshit. That, and they made me change my password and user every fucking month.
I always select yes do you want cash back at the supermarket. I bring home an extra 20 and keep it in an envelope in my safe. For that day when the power is out and cash is king.
