Overall, relatively benign albeit an El Nino summer is predicted which is a big worry (bushfires). Here in the capital of Australia the weather is unusually good and a little personal detail you'll find rivetting...the weather forecast yesterday was for 16C so I thought...middle of Winter...weak sun... no need for suntan lotion ...I can go scootering for hours (which I did - 6 hours)...came back with a face like a lobster! My face got more sunburnt than it ever got in the height of summer when I used a suntan lotion. A salutary lesson. The sun is not to be messed wif!

I do worry about our American bros. We've had terrible flooding in recent years but incremental-type flooding - not the horrific forceful flooding we are seeing in Vermont.
