I think I'm going to go with Zorin Os for Linux, any objections?

Gay. Use TempleOS!

The problem I had was it's lack of customization. Otherwise; it is just Ubuntu. I will do the job.

Does it have systemd?

It's based on ubuntu, just like mint, but there are a number of things that make it easier for the newbie, so it is a good distro if you are not that experienced with linux to get you up and running, much like what Mint was meant to do.

With that being said, you can still do on it whatever you would do on Debian / Ubuntu as well, if you want to tinker around.

That's fine for those coming from Windows; it can be very windows-like.
You could also look at Elementary OS which may be better suited for those who value design and visual appeal over performance, while LXLE might be preferred by those who need a lightweight and minimalist system.

Is TempleOS maintained? What's been your experience with it?

So... it's Ubuntu with extra stuff?

If this is your first time getting your dick wet, just try ubuntu for a few months.

Otherwise, go crazy, you'll probably distro hop for a year until you find something you like.

Give it a try. If you don't like something about it, you can always try another distro.

If you're coming from OSX, you'll probably enjoy the Gnome desktop version. If coming from Windows, Xfce is a closer match to the classic pre-8 Windows experience. But it may feel a bit clunky. Modern look, but feels a bit dated. You might like a distro that ships with KDE (aka Plasma) more.

Cinnamon is much closer to windows than xfce; it even takes more memory than it needs just like windows.

For a better overall experience, give OSX a shot. If tinkering to get something to work is your thing, linux may be up your alley.
