I don't have much time. We're just back from dinner and we have to be back at parc expose at 07:00.

One of the primary competitors isn't here and is actually at Goodwood instead of racing here, so that's great.

I'm doing okay overall and am first in class, but I limped in with a broken strut. They only had a couple of hours to work on it and it's supposed to be fixed and aligned properly for tomorrow.

The course is fucking brutal. We've had rain so people have been out playing and rutted up the trails. The cars are back in parc ferme right now, so I hope it's fixed.

We have two stages to start tomorrow off and then we can service the car. They aren't allowed to drive the cars when they're in service, so we have to hope the work was done right.

As I kinda want to keep my privacy and this is a very public thing, I'll say that I'm doing very well. I am not in first overall, but I'm first in my class. There's no way I can be first overall, the car just doesn't have it in it. I'm losing time at every stage, even though my lines are perfection.

But, I'm ahead of cars faster than mine. I'm well ahead, actually.

I don't think the car has it in it. It's just not that fast.

I've got to be out in the parking lot at 07:00. It's not to drive anywhere, it's so that the fans can come out and check out the cars, take pictures, and stuff like that. The 'day' starts at like 08:15 or some shit, but we're still sitting in a parking lot until 09:00.

The course is brutal. Team O'Neil built me a good car. I came down hard on the passenger's side, landing straight in a rut with the wheel turned, and that bent something in my suspension. I want to say it was an A arm that bent, but the whole thing was a bit of a mess and it's not my job to fix it.

I did not slow down. I just dealt with the steering being a bit off and the ride a bit worse.

I ain't slowing down for that.

I've got maybe 45 minutes before I need to think about sleeping.

Oh, I wasn't going to let that stop me. It's a rally. Shit breaks. I didn't evne let it slow me down.

I'm not actually sure if the strut blew or was just out of place due to a bent A arm. I'm sure they told me but I was likely paying attention to someone else.

This experience is a zillion times better with a crew. If you're paying attention, look for "Team O'Neil" logos. In parc ferme (cars can't be touched) I'm parked a couple of cars down from someone who is streaming some stuff on YouTube. I avoided talking to them for good reason.

If the car still starts and moves, it's gonna cross the finish line. I have quite a bit of mechanical sympathy, so I won't beat it up - but I will push to the limits.

I just don't have the speed to make it to the top. The car's stripped down, but it's still pretty heavy.

If you do figure out which one is me, don't tell anyone. LOL

Also, I'm pretty fucking sore. I'm okay with that.

It is. Until it isn't.

We had a fatality today. Someone fucked up and hit a tree at a high rate of speed. Their codriver was killed instantly, or at least pronounced dead at the scene.

So, I do get a trophy... It's a bit tainted, but I'm pretty sure I am still going on the record as winning my class.

I know you're following along, or were.

I just want to let you know (I don't have much time) that I am not the fatality. We're just fine and stayed more or less on the trails.

The event is canceled for the rest of the day.

What I know:

One car wrecked into a tree. They hit on the passenger side. The codriver is dead and was pronounced dead at the scene.

I was ahead of them and did not witness the accident. We were red flagged at the stage end and then news started to trickle down.

It's a sad day for the rally community. I'm in the process of helping the family financially, 'cause funerals and shit like that are expensive.

It's a good reminder of how dangerous this is and death is something we risk when we drive like this. Rally racing is still very dangerous. We don't have things like proper safety barriers. Most of the time, we don't even have hay bales.

Anyhow, I don't want you to worry. I am not dead. We're just fine.

We will get a trophy, I'm pretty sure. The race ended when I was in the same position I was in last night.

The news is fucked. They're reporting the death was yesterday.

We ran the first stage this morning. So, maybe some news is fucked up? Maybe they decided to cancel it after the first stage and nobody mentioned the death to me yesterday?

It seems like something they'd tell me but I may have somehow missed it? I was pretty exhausted.

The first stage was terrible conditions. So, maybe they decided to red flag it then because of the death being yesterday?

Let me ask around.

Carl had been popping in the threads when we had them on Poal for a while there. Harry Reems too. Nadesh I had been in contact with her through emails until like 5 or six months ago and I lost access to my email account. That sucks. VOAT going away on Christmas fucked the whole thing all up.

I use discord to text chat with a couple friends. You can do groups, and probably video and all that too. It's leftist operated, and they've deleted that video of Ann Hetch (sp?) being alive before reported dead from a private chat with a single person...

I think they just changed their naming scheme, but you should hopefully still be able to find her with this.

Nice parody. Too bad there's no Dr Demento show to get it played on. I would play it on my Internet radio station's live broadcast where I add in some comedy, if you don't think anyone would care. Playing people's songs wouldn't help to gain popularity as there are only around 100 different monthly listeners. Also my live broadcasts are after the peak listener hours of the day, so that also decreases the likelihood of it even being heard. LOL

Well, I like the music sound and playing. I'm always up for anything different and out of the ordinary, which Verle consistently delivers to the vocals. I always like when the song sounds like there was a lot of fun going on too. Good times!

Looks like a slow weekend at the FNGT. While I am not recording anything at the moment, I am working on remixes of songs I have already done. Bandlabs has some cool tools that I think will benefit me, as I currently have no one else to collaborate with making the recordings.

So, I should be moved in the beginning of August. I'll try to get some locals or use Bandlabs to create music with others. My daughter got a Soundcloud account, and I am trying to influence her into singing. Next on my list is the girlfriend: an experienced choir singer and maybe still has it in her to do some singing.

I might not make it out to play live again, but I sure as hell am going to have as much fun as possible with some people and see what we can create.
