Beat me to it. There probably are other homeless people in similar situations, i.e. has family that won't help them but will talk about how much they cared for them or whatever should something happen to them. Jews really did a number of family cohesion.

Drug and/or alcohol addiction could be one reason.
The article states that she had a child, not that she had a child with her.
Could be the family was seeing after the kid while the mother was off being a lost cause.
It sucks that this sort of thing is so commonplace in society, but sometimes you can't help someone you love that's that far gone; all you can do is protect yourself and watch from a distance as they self-destruct.

If they cared enough to complain publicly about how she died, they could make the most of the opportunity and highlight how she got to that point and, in doing so, perhaps save someone else's kid from a similar fate.
Indeed, a family should feel shame for the product of their failure and handle internal matters privately before they reach the point of becoming public spectacle.
Perhaps if more did, society wouldn't be such a clown show.

Edit: for reference, I had the unfortunate experience of living with someone who degenerated into an alcoholic and, eventually, drug addict.
I had to cut them off because when it all finally came to light, I discovered that not only had they been lying to everyone, but also stealing to support their habit.
That last day was a horrible blowout and I'm still feeling the consequences years later, but, looking back, I did the best thing I could have in getting the fuck out of there.

Brutal. But these PTO-driven mower attachments are very loud. Assuming the driver started at one corner of the lot, if the woman did not wake up as the tractor got near to her, then it's pretty likely she was knocked out by some cocktail of drugs and/or alcohol. I'm skeptical about the 'highly concerned' family who didn't seem too concerned about their daughter (sibling) sleeping outside on state land.

One of the greatest dangers in saving a drowning victim is that they panic and drag you under with them, killing you both.
It's much the same with addicts: sometimes, the best option you have is the least-worst one; you can choose to let them in your home and they proceed to wreak havoc, or kick them out; either way, they still end up self-destructing.
It's horrible and heart-wrenching, but that's the nature of the evil that's been inflicted on our society.

I agree 100%. The sad thing is the family wishing in the aftermath that they had done better or could have done something. It’s a terrible story, this lady in the fired, however, it’s kind of funny how it’s written, at least the version I got from local news in nor cal where this happened.

Here is a bone for the agency types reading this site: I live in northern California. I was having a conversation with some liberal neighbors yesterday, most of them local mothers, about homelesness and other issues in the state. All the liberal women were getting pissed at the stupid, childish tactics our state uses for dealing with homeless people, drug and mental health issues, "greenhouse gas" and environmental issues, and the list went on. I heard concepts budding in their minds which echo the "hardline" tactics discussed on Voat, Poal, gab, you name it. The tide is turning. Our people will fight for their home again. It wont be this generation, but perhaps the next.

I see that the demonization of National Socialist Germany had an unintended consequence: The effective and logical social policies they enacted are never discussed as that would paint those Germans in a good light. So, the people are not averse to re-enacting those policies. Jews lied about good Europeans for so long they only have a false characterature to beat. Our substance escapes them and will rise again.

When I was bush hogging the feed plots at my bosses house with grass 2-3 feet tall I hit a fawn. Didn’t even know until I came to make another pass. But the thing is that baby deer are biologically programmed to do this to hide from predators since they have little to no scent. This dumb Mexican was sleeping in tall grass? And she didn’t hear a fucking tractor coming right for her? She was comatose from
Heroin. It’s likely that she was already dead from an OD.

Sleeping with a lawnmower in a public park should be illegal, but you probably have to take what you can get when you're homeless. Jose may have a job, but it sounds like the Landscaper wasn't having it.
