Despite I knew him for a long time - we were in the same Australian Army unit in Victoria in 1966 - I never knew his surname, when he retired from deep water navigation he piloted tour boats on the Brisbane River keeping passengers entertained on his piano accordion, which he also used as a busker in various B'bane locations for many years, RIP Col.
We didn't actually "share good times" although I had known him for quite a number of yrs we weren't particularly close, he lived two doors up from me in the Brisbane suburb of Teneriffe we both appear to have moved into this region at about the same time in 1986, he was still at sea at that time .. he went on to know everyone in the street by name and held court on the balcony of his apartment building, nobody but nobody could walk by without eliciting a greeting, I would see him at various times when he was on the river or when he was out busking.
Col was not the only death we have had recently .. Joe who lived in the apartment at left in the image above passed away in late May, the land person discovered his body inside his flat in early June he was about 60 yo, it is not known whether he had been vaxed however it is quite possible he had been, he was a nice guy he kept to himself most of the time RIP Joe .. they say things come in threes well maybe they do so around here we wonder who is to be next.

Sometimes I think they need to do more to warn people of the danger when they're on their deathbeds. Not that the media would report it... However, when you are severely ill there's not much you can do or want to do. You just want to curl up and sleep or die if it's bad enough.
