Got stung by a wasp today. Wasp genocide incoming...

submitted by Nosferatjew to whatever 1.8 yearsJul 18, 2023 19:08:15 ago (+21/-0)     (whatever)

There I was, just minding my own business, when BAM! this little fucker divebombs me, nailing me on the back of my upper arm, where muh soft supple skin is oh so sensitive. I knew there were wasps around, but so far, none of them have fucked with me. Well, once is enough. Now they all must die.

#TOTAL WASP DEATH

Any suggestions for method of mass execution? I was thinking I would shop vac the flyers, then blast the nests with wasp killer spray, then safely chill on the hammock with a tall glass of ice water.

I don't have a lot of tolerance for wasps like I do bees. If they push their luck I got a big ass can that shoots from twenty feet away and it works. Yesterday my wife told me there's a snake in the yard. I went out and it was a three foot black snake. I used the pool broom to shoo it away and you know not once did this snake ever get aggressive or anything so I picked him up and took him to the woods. He was just as nice as could be. I've encountered other black snakes who would try & bite so I'm always cautious. I don't keel them. They are good to have around as they eat a lot of bugs and poisonous snakes. Copperheads and rattlesnakes get decimated with a shotgun blast to the fucking head.

My go to snake elimination implement is my trusty flat head shovel. One swift strike, and off with the head.

Don't shoot em.
Get a stick about an inch thick and smack them in the head. Crushes their skull. Then you can skin them out head and all.

I've killed them like that too. I used a fishing pole a few times and whack their heads. Shovel. Rake. I had to rake a garter snake that was on my walkway. He was a bitey little bastard. It just depends on what kind of mood I'm in. With rattlesnakes I almost always shoot them.

I have honey bees so I have to be careful. I use a dilute boric acid (roach killer) sugar solution. Talking about half gallon jug of apple juice, half full of juice, a tsp of boric acid and topped off with water. Pour it in old cans/cups with a stick so they can land and drink easily. It's strong enough to kill, but not instantly so they carry it back to the main nest and share with all the others. No where near enough sugar to attract bees.

This works best in the spring when the nests are small/still getting established, but the only difference between then and now is how long it takes (1 week vs probably a month for total eradication).

Ain't nobody got time for that.

It hurts the colony when one aggressive nigger wasp decides to perform monkeyshines. Give them all the shovel, evolution mandates total wasp docility

When things upset me I usually find that they end up on fire. I like to watch it burn.

Bucket, water, soap, board, chicken, nails. This guy seems trustworthy based on other videos I have seen from him. This is for yellow jackets, but they are wasps anyway:

The FIRST thing you have to do is VIDEO IT!!!

When you're done then you post the video on here.

I just Love watching tards running away from wasps while flailing their arms all around and screaming!

Had one of those bastards sting me right in the temple one time when I was mowing the lawn and unwittingly went too close to their nest which was situated in an outside metal pole clothes hanger. Hurt like hell, and felt like a hot pick going into the side of my head. I swore TWD from that day forward.

Hair spray and a lighter

[ - ] DoughGoy 3 points 1.8 yearsJul 18, 2023 20:30:06 ago (+3/-0)

Look up the videos where they put a little gasoline in a glass, and then hold the glass over the nest and they all just drop out and die. It's kind of cool. Only downside is you have to be able to reach the nest.

Had a customer who owned an emu ranch. Fixed his appliances and met him on his front porch. Wasp nests everywhere. He told me to sit in the one plastic chair with no wasp nests. I offered to spray the nests (I always carry cans of the good stuff) but he said that they are there for their own reasons and that he never harms them and that he's never ben stung. Damn. Got paid and got outta there asap.

Maybe he was on to something.

try to be stung by a scorpion. fun times. i was stung by a baby scorpion and the sting was similar of a wasp or a bee. not pleasant at all

my mother did got stung by a full grown one and she said that it really hurt.

with that being said, african bees are the worse 🤣🤣because they will not let go until you are dead

[ - ] PhantomXLII 2 points 1.8 yearsJul 18, 2023 20:35:31 ago (+2/-0)

I find bee stings really aren't that bad. Just like an old former friend of mine, who was a good pincher, was giving me a solid pinch.

Wasps have a weird buzzing feeling behind their stings though. Fuck that.

Soapy water works just as well as the spray. The spray in the can gets you range that’s about the only benefit. Depending on best location, I would use soapy water in a pump sprayer go like 25-35% dish soap. They breathe through their skin and the glycerin in the soap clogs the pores so they suffocate. You don’t get instant knock down though.

Import wood bees.

Wood bees fucking hate wasps.

Wood bees kill wasps.

[ - ] Jewpacabra 3 points 1.8 yearsJul 18, 2023 19:40:52 ago (+3/-0)

I have used the shopvac method, it works. Wife makes me put a plastic bag with rubber bands to keep them from escaping.
Also use a Bug-a-salt...a bit more challenging as it takes a couple of hits to get them down and they know when one of their own gets hurt and come to the injured ones defense.

I have actually never been bit by a wasp. Have had a tarantula hawk land on my arm before. Holy mother of God that was scary. Luckily got him off without him stinging me

[ - ] Nosferatjew [op] 2 points 1.8 yearsJul 18, 2023 20:32:07 ago (+2/-0)

Wtf is a tarantula hawk?

EDIT: nm, I looked it up. FUCK THAT THING.

Those give me serious Cazador vibes from Fallout New Vegas.

They're worse than deathclaws. Way worse than deathclaws.

[ - ] Bonanza 2 points 1.8 yearsJul 18, 2023 21:02:43 ago (+2/-0)

Indeed they are.

[ - ] HeyJames 2 points 1.8 yearsJul 18, 2023 20:49:29 ago (+2/-0)

They're not aggressive towards humans usually but if they feel threatened they will sting

[ - ] TheBigGuyFromQueens 2 points 1.8 yearsJul 19, 2023 02:59:58 ago (+2/-0)

Youtube is a great resource for wasp killing; Israel is a great resource for WASP killing.

If it’s a ground nest, you can pour molten metal into it and uproot a really cool sculpture.

[ - ] NukeAmerica 2 points 1.8 yearsJul 19, 2023 01:12:08 ago (+2/-0)

I have a bunch of orange wasps outside my house and dey chill n sheit. I spray em with a hose or step near them and they just fly off.

Wasps are the assholes of the insect world...my worst sting sess was @ 300-400 stings from bald face hornets. Buddy, who had watched the shit how from afar, came back and sprayed foaming raid on them. End of story.

They won't attack when it's cold. But here is the shop vac defense: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1443965073046249

I got stung by a wasp a few years ago.
Spent my whole life hearing stories about getting stung by wasps.
It itched for a few days. Kinda annoying.
You guys are pussies.

[ - ] UncleDoug 1 point 1.8 yearsJul 19, 2023 08:39:47 ago (+1/-0)

There I was, just minding my own business, when BAM!

I can relate. Last year was walking around a fig, the wasps didn't seem to bother me or even be interested in me. Let down my guard and bam in the neck.

2min later, an aerosol can and cigarette lighter and incinerated everything within a 5m radius.

Hit the nests with flying insect killer (the foaming stuff) after dark. Repeat as needed for a few days.

[ - ] texasblood 0 points 1.8 yearsJul 18, 2023 20:04:18 ago (+2/-2)

Wait till dark before striking a nest.

[ - ] Dirtydyno 4 points 1.8 yearsJul 18, 2023 21:10:17 ago (+4/-0)

This is soooo correct. You want to fight them, but just go Sun Tzu on them. Wasps and bees can't navigate at night, it is their Achilles heel. They sit there like helpless victims when you pour death on them. Use a flash light you can quickly turn off, NOT a head lamp, for obvious reasons.
