I’m sorry but they really blew it. They have no more credibility with so many people I seriously doubt this fear no getting bullshit will work. Even in the liberal bastion where I live most people saw the light and are quietly (and sheepishly) over it. They won’t admit their massive mistakes, and a lot of people are quietly suffering and dying, but they’re not falling for this crap again. We’ve had enough.

Calm down. The flu is a given each year. And of course COVID-19. None of this is new. The third one is presumably one they've detected over the summer and think it will take hold. They probably detect several novel ones each year, most of which they don't think will spread enough to be an issue.
