Bro, I sure hope you,elbow the fuck out on that motorcycle. I gather you are somewhere around my age, 52 +/-. I gave up street riding after knowing a few who got really fucked up on bikes. A couple, three now,that died. All Harleys too. Sold my last one, then sold my dirt bike. I only do four wheels now.
Man, if it isn’t you who fucks yourself up, it will be a car. It’s not a matter of if, but when. One of my older good friends who rode all his life told me that the longer you go without a mishap, the closer you are to one. He had wrecked a few as well.

It took one good bail, for me. Got clipped dodging a red light runner.

Wrecked a brand new Ducati 600SS, and narrowly avoided being pancaked by a semi.

I drove a '74 Cougar for a long while after that. Always been big, heavy vehicles for me since that crash.

I hit a bird in Arizona on I-10 going 100-110mph. Small bird. Hit my knee. Felt like to hammer blow and came within literally inches of going off the side of the highway. In the middle of nowhere desert 🏜️

I watched the rider in front of me on a vstar or some HD knockoff cruiser smack a white tail. Its head dented the forks, and its body hit his legs. He killed it on impact and never went down. The deputy didn't believe us at first thinking we poached this deer somehow on street bikes on the highway. Moral to the story is my guy on the vstar wasn't OP, because his story is bullshit.

@con77...I've got more miles without a helmet than with...I wear it in Missouri and here in Canada but throughout Centro America, Jamaica, mid-west and Western states I don't....unless rain, hail, snow or cold....got caught in an ugly hail storm in the Black Hills a few years ago and it was a good thing I was able to get to my helmet quick and the padded gloves came in handy too...fucking hail is bullets from the sky.

About 5 years back just south of Des Moines on my FLHTC Ultra Classic modified with a 124 S&S on I35, I hit a coyote at 90mph and went right through it, a little bump is all I felt...the critter was barrelling at full speed which put it low to the ground and below my fender line so it made contact with the tire...the rest is academic.

@KylelsThisTall..."threw" is a verb, "through" is a preposition adverb/adjective...it delineates "how" the motorcycle made contact with the animal while "driving" (verb).
