That was infuriating.

Authorities were forced to kill the animal in order to gather Ortiz’s remains, despite crocodiles being a protected species in Costa Rica.

Yeah, let's kill this endangered animal so we can recover the corpse of a useless spic, of which species is grossly overpopulated.

I might be able to understand with man-eating mammals due to learned opportunity and acquired tastes. It's still sad to see a big cat or bear get put down because of that. With a croc, though? Those fuckers rip and tear whatever is in their path with no discrimination.

It's a wild animal. Crocodile just doing what crocodiles do. Their anger was at themselves for holding an event near dangerous waters and not keeping a closer watch. Avoiding responsibility.

I dont get why crocs are protected. We dont protect lizards. But if you grow big enough to the size you can kill people, then you get some sort of immunity. I would commission a study to see if the ecosysyem would miss them. If not, fuck the scaly bastards.

FYI, death by croc is more common than people know throughout the 3rd world, about 10 years back in Jamaica there was a stat report average of 6 deaths a year, all women who were doing laundry in the rivers.

The Rio Grande already has gators. The only crocodiles in the US are in Florida and prefer saltwater. They wouldn’t do well very far up the river.
