Hulu is planning to reboot King of the Hill and supposedly Hardwick already recorded a few episodes...hope they find a way to send Dale off well.

Apparently the character was modeled after the actor's physical appearance and his smoking habit.

It's possible. Disney has used archived audio for other actors who died before recording had finished. There should be enough to string together a send-off.
