They only told a half truth. They do give money to the schools, but what they don't tell you is that they take the money they used to allocate to schools and reallocate it elsewhere.

Property taxes like all taxes don't exist because they need the money. They exist because they can. It's a business. If the revenue exceeds the cost of administrating the tax the tax makes sense. Just not ethically.

True in more ways than one. They get most of the money back in taxes. It's basically a way for states to do what the Fed would do sometimes in terms of stimulating the economy. Not only do the made-millionaires pay a bunch of taxes, but guys who bought $5 scratchoffs also pay taxes on whatever they buy.

They were supposed to make your taxes less but did no such thing.
