Just saw a semi get hit so hard it launched its engine

That's a new one for me. Truck engine just sitting on the road about 200 feet away

Should have honestly taken a picture it was pretty cool

Went to accident scene where a prime mover & smaller truck collided head on. Took almost a week to find prime movers engine as it had cartwheeled down the side ending up in a dam.

I believe it! Momentum for something that solid is hard to stop. have heard stories of old industrial two stroke fly wheels rolling for miles

I've seen that a few times, it's not really that uncommon...once the engine dislodges from the frame mounts there's nothing but fiberglass and chrome trim the rest of the way....the one thing I did see that was astounding while cleaning up a train derailment was a split frame of a 450,000lb 3axle locomotive after the mile long 3 engine train plowed into a logging truck.
