Hey niggerfaggot, in your opinion, what peppers are the best balance of heat and flavor. I grew the everliving shit out of ghost peppers this year, but I don't get to enjoy any flavor before I get zykloned in the face.

Do you prefer chinese flavor (habanero and hotter) or annuum (thai and milder)? I have a hybrid line I picked up called “hellapeño” - i believe it’s a jalapeño-ghost… tastes more jalapeño but comes in a little hotter than a cayenne with a hint of the fruity chinense flavor. If you like the fruitier flavor, chiero roxa is a sweeter, milder habanero flavor about 1/3-1/2 the heat of a hab. I just got some dale khursani seeds (ii’m sure i misspelled that) - supposed to be a hotter thai-like flavor.

Habaneros are a nice sweet spot. I made a sauce from habaneros and peach juice a few weeks ago that turned out great. Heat that hits and doesn't linger. Calabrian Chilis have been a nice find too.

That said, I use Thais in sauces and curries. I made a good sauce from those, onion, ginger, fish sauce, and honey.

Ghosts and Thais did great for me this year. Lemon Drops took a bit, but are now producing a ton. Carolina Reapers and Trinidad Scorpions have struggled.

Similar story in my garden… whole season was cool and wet then stupid hot for the end of august. Annuums did well, baccatums are now doing well. Super-hots have all been shitty

Try Ghost, Scorpion or Reaper… the dust is a mix of several kind of peppers and the recipe changes. Some batches are hotter than others.
