The recent EMS alert seems more and more suspicious to me the more I think about it.

Because at the time I didn't know everything that was going to happen right after it. Do you recall when you first heard about it? It seemed out of nowhere to me. Like, all of a sudden I just started seeing news stories about it happening a few days before it did.

The first time my phone started shrieking about some nothing alert it made me angry. I don't like being jerked around and controlled.

If there's an emergency in my neighbourhood I'll see it. If it's somewhere else then somewhere else can deal with it. Why the fuck should I?

No this did not 'come out of nowhere' I worked in the telecommunications field and they started talking about 'Presidential Alerts' about 10 years ago. That was when they first published the spec for the communication protocol. Yes 10 years ago. It takes the government a long time to do anything. They have been planning this a long time.

...but having some industry inside knowledge about this means I see a few more pieces of the puzzle, and let me tell you that it stinks like a dead fish. Even for the government this took to long to roll out. They put the ball in motion during the Obama administration and it was scheduled to go live after the end of his term. But then Trump won and Clinton did not... and all of a sudden this got delayed. The left were loosing their minds about Trump's 'mean tweets' and this project just sort of went away. And then Biden got into the White House and suddenly this project moved forward again.

Everything that happened in 2020 was originally scheduled to happen in 2016-2017 under Clinton's watch. The entire plan was put on pause for four years.
