I'll tell this story again and I'll keep it as brief as I can.

In 2005 I had managed to to pay off all my debts less my home and I swore to myself that I'd live "as poor as I always have for year" and just save.

So for a year I did exactly that but instead of paying credit loans I stuffed it into the bank and paid whatever bill I had. I worked tons, like I always do and I was diligent about it.....and there was much complaining from "others".

So in 2006 I was gathering all my receipts for my accountant to do my taxes and I have my checkbook and my wages for the year in front me so I look, I hadn't really looked at my bank account, I was just throwing money in there left and right. No vacations, no new cars, no new appliances....NOTHING.

And I looked at my w-2's and I'm like "wow!" I did good this year. Not great but better than last year and the years before. Then I looked at my savings/checking account expecting a more or less same reaction......nope. WTF!

#NO! I MEAN WHAT THE FUCK!!

So I spent the next three days graphing out my expenses. Endless phone calls to utilities companies and pouring over receipts.

What I found out was that I pay 56% of ALL my income to some tax or another, 23% of my income is directly related to expenses to acquire that 56% of income that I pay in taxes AND I'M LEFT WITH 21% OF MY INCOME.

That's no joke. I work 4 days a week so that I can clear 1 day of income. I promise you all, you're worse. You don't do the kind of saving and scrimping that I do. You are far more in debt than than I am.

I'm not saying this to belittle you, I'm really not, I'm only to trying to make you aware of how bad it really is.

Quality post. Pity how many are financially illiterate and unaware of why they're endlessly poor.

Add in inflation as well

[ - ] herbert_west 3 points 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 15:37:56 ago (+3/-0)

It's about the same here in Germany and getting worse and worse. The worst part is that all the tax money is completely wasted by the government.

Sounds like you have a property problem.

[ - ] RMGoetbbels 0 points 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 19:47:09 ago (+0/-0)

No I didn't.
I had saved for 6 years before I bought that house and paid ~24% down. And at that time my interest rate was 5% and the mortgage/insurance payment was less than a weeks salary.

But yeah I know what you're talking about because I watched houses going into foreclosure left and right all around me.

42% income tax + 15% sales tax.

57% combined taxation.

Plus all sorts of other taxes on ownership, gasoline, etc.

Let's not forget the kosher tax on almost every edible.

[ - ] Looneyskiproony 1 point 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 15:49:14 ago (+1/-0)

Parve. That was the reason I started noticing 20 years ago

[ - ] heytheremyfriends 9 points 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 09:16:14 ago (+9/-0)

with inflation it doesn't even matter, they could let you keep all of it and it would still be owrthless

[ - ] Sleazy [op] 1 point 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 10:41:40 ago (+1/-0)

Yep

[ - ] FuckShitJesus 7 points 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 09:54:23 ago (+7/-0)

Pretty much all of it, really.

I mean, think about it. Lets say you buy "a thing", so lets call it.. a footstool!

Step #1: Some dude cuts down a tree. What he charges to cut down the tree has to include a bunch of shit:
- Wearing clothes he paid sales tax on
- Using tool he paid sales tax on
- Using fuel he paid sales tax on
- Charging by the hour which he pays taxes on

Step #2: Some dude hauls the tree to a sawmill. He charges a cost based on all the shit he has to pay for:
- Wearing clothes he paid sales tax on
- Driving truck he paid sales tax on
- Using fuel he paid sales tax on
- Buying food he pays sales tax on

Step #3: Lumber yard processes tree. Has cost based on all the shit they pay for.
- Employees they pay taxes on (social security, medicare, all the other jew grift)
- Building they pay taxes on
- Tools they pay taxes on
- Vehicles they pay taxes on
- Fuel they pay taxes on
- Electricity they pay taxes on
- Water they pay taxes on
- Waste service they pay taxes on

And so on, and so on, and so on.

Your fuckin' $50 footstool is really a tenth of a dollar in real, actual, practical cost and the rest is fucking 2,000+ times it was taxed along the way to produce the fuckin footstool.

The fact that the room-temp IQ normie is incapable of even comprehending this, let alone deciding collectively to do something about it, in a Country that was fuckin' founded off a rebellion over taxes on tea.. is exactly why we're currently fucked.

I like to explain it to morons like this:

I pay 5 taxes to play fetch with the dog.

I pay the property taxes on the house.

I pay for the dog license.

I pay the sales tax for the chainsaw.

I pay the fuel tax to run the chainsaw to cut the limb.

I pay for a marriage license(wifes dog).

Dog and wife might be worth it.

But probably not.

Dog though

[ - ] SocksOnCats 3 points 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 12:12:38 ago (+4/-1)

Wife is always and absolutely a net loss for men.

You can make and have a kid without keeping the wife. This is the path men should start taking. Leave the bitches behind until they get their collective act together.

May you be blessed with many daughters.

Already there. My opinion does not change.

More men should go MGTOW.

[ - ] TheNoticing 2 points 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 16:58:19 ago (+2/-0)

Dog is always worth it.

[ - ] RMGoetbbels 1 point 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 19:51:13 ago (+1/-0)

Gawd I loved that dog! When it was all settled I was left with a cat, and I didn't like cats.

Jokes on her though, I taught it to bark and play fetch.

My x wife had my dog put to sleep when we got divorced. Fucking cunt.

ATF Example: A home madepistol suppressor costs (or used to before inflation) a few dollars at Home Depot. So total cost to produce by oneself assuming you have the tools at home is a whomping 5$. If you can find the can, the cost drops to pretty much zero.

Now let's see how the ATF does it. The suppressor will run you around a thousand. The paperwork is 200$, the background check is another 15$( used to be included until gun shops dumped the cost onto the consumer), and the time you wasted to get it is around a year.

Involving the government made a 5 minute, 5$ item turn into a one YEAR, 1250$. Government meddling increased the cost of this one item by 1245$, or a percent increase of 31,250%. This doesn't even factor inflation, local and state vice taxes, etc

Government doesn't even need to ban guns per se, they just need to make it so ridiculously expensive no one can afford them. Then the slimey kikes inflate away your money to buy their fancy guns, so they can shoot you. The kikes get free guns and ammo, and you pay 2,3,4 times the cost to make up the difference

Jews have to be some of the dumbest retards in the world: they are so willing to kill their own protection to push their pervesions, without realizing that their hatred of Whitey is what keeps them alive at all.

Nice

Not really

Great example though

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 3 points 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 16:22:22 ago (+3/-0)

The last time I really looked into it, about 75% to 80% of your take-home is going to the government taxes/fees/fines/etc. And that's not counting what gets paid on your behalf by your company, money that could have gone into your earnings. Nor the things you are required to buy.

Just the added up taxes of the things a normal person needs to get through the day.

Then you have to account for inflation, always rising medical costs, and etc forever.

The parasites have grown too numerous for the few White working men(the only net-positive tax group) to uphold. Assuming they even allow you a job you can do in the first place.

Therefore the system must collapse, as it has no other choice.

So get what you can while the gettin' is good friends, it's not gonna last forever.

[ - ] MasklessTheGreat 3 points 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 10:18:44 ago (+3/-0)

None. I opted out and pay nothing. Compensation exchanged for labor is tax exempt.

[ - ] Sleazy [op] 1 point 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 10:37:15 ago (+1/-0)

Damned right

[ - ] HeavyBrain 2 points 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 15:29:02 ago (+2/-0)

If you go down long enough, all of it...also all your labour and the money you can "keep".

[ - ] TheNoticing 2 points 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 12:21:52 ago (+2/-0)

Anything is too much.

[ - ] NaturalSelectionistWorker 2 points 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 12:08:05 ago (+2/-0)

If we're counting the 1/3 of all our pay that's been stolen through inflation, over half.

Hard to find the motivation to work when you're more than half enslaved.

[ - ] HeyJames 1 point 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 16:51:51 ago (+1/-0)

Had a good month last month and had to set aside around 7000 I think. Luckily my deductions should take care of that mostly but at my tax rate that's what would be owed. Pretty disgusting

[ - ] MuricaPersonified 1 point 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 13:00:22 ago (+1/-0)

Zero. Now the quarterly taxes? Complete rape even though I write off almost everything; in the end it ranges between 30-40% total.

[ - ] DeathTsunami 1 point 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 11:10:43 ago (+1/-0)

About 23%

[ - ] prominent_proboscis 1 point 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 09:59:04 ago (+1/-0)

i control my own pay now. 33% on minimum wage and 15% on dividends.

[ - ] Sleazy [op] 2 points 1.7 yearsOct 17, 2023 10:39:57 ago (+2/-0)

Way too much
