That was the line of thought I went down earlier. I began with "I hope both sides critically injure each other" or even "I hope Israel is glassed." But in the former case, all of our money/resources in the West would immediately go to rebuilding Israel, and in the latter case, the US just renames itself to "Greater Israel" or some bullshit and now I have to live in an openly-controlled Jewish state (which is close to how it is already). At least in the latter case, there would likely be maximum Noticing and ideally an expulsion (Idk, I can't be all pessimism today).

I think you are making the mistake of thinking if some myths about nukes are wrong that proves everything is wrong and you can extrapolate to whatever absurd conclusion you want.

Nukes do not absolutely annihilate a whole city. The majority of the destruction is from the city burning down after the blast. There is a lot of exageration about the power of nukes because they are a deterent and need to be scarry.

Same thing with radiation in general. Air absorbes a lot of radiation such that you need to be in contact with radioactive items to take any damage. The worst is ingesting radioactive material. The bombed city does not become a glowing crater that instantly kills everything. Radioactive fallout is spread by the air and eventually settles out. At that point you can go back and breath the air and live there, with some hit to longevity.

You are extrapolating from "nukes are not what I expect" to "therfore nukes don't exist". That is irrational.
