He answered her question on why we haven't been back to the moon as, Well we didn't go because we didn't go. It's like if your wife asks you why you didn't go to the store. Well I didn't go because I didn't go. That's doesn't mean I have never been to the store before. It's an awkward way to answer her question but nowhere does he say we have never been to the moon. The fun question is to try scoring the prediction made by Richard van der Riet Woolley, the 11th Astronomer Royal. He predicted that man would not go to the moon, justifying his prediction by saying

It would cost as much as a major war just to put a man on the moon.

Was he right or wrong? He was right about the price, wrong about the Government's willingness to pay.

One reason is there isn't much point. You know, India might want to put a man on the moon to prove they can do it. Otherwise, what are you going to do up there? This applies to a lesser extent to space in general, but there is microgravity shit to do in orbit, and people can always release micro-satellites. If you need to get something from the moon, you can send a robot.

Eventually people will probably go as tourism. At least that's a reason, and when someone is spending their own money there is less opposition.

Imagine how awesome and useful it would be to have daily images of the Earth and it's surrounding atmosphere from the moon. A atomic and/or solar powered camara or sets of cameras recording data and images of the Earth. Imagine all the data we would be able to collect about the earth and it's atmosphere. Records and images of lunar eclipses. Images of asteroids speeding by the earth. A 125x optical zoom camera that can see the surface of the moon is less than a $1,000. We just sent 10 billion plus to defend foreign borders, we have/had money. Didn't the chinks just send a rocket to the moon, odd that they and nobody else on the planet working in the space industry ever thought about putting a camera on the moon or even launching a satellite to orbit the moon. Imagine all the possibilities.

Then know that we have not been able to ever escape our own atmosphere and it's all a lie.

So quoted out of context, in actual 17 min long interview he says the landing happened several times. when asked why we havent gone back yet:
