EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM VIA CELL PHONE

submitted by Zyklonbeekeeper to HDLunited 1.5 yearsNov 15, 2023 18:21:16 ago (+17/-0)     (HDLunited)

Driving while destracted by a device is a traffic violation and is prohibited.

Then why in the fuck are EMERGENCY ALERTS broadcast to my cell phone when I'm driving?

This is how broken the world is today..."oh but it's for the children"....those making the laws today are dumb useless empowered kids.

Wait till you start getting "ebony alerts"

...my point was, it was an arbitrary decision (government over reach) to impose the "electronic device" and "driving while distracted" laws, the dumb fucks in government are so clueless that they are oblivious to the fact that they're broadcasting an alert to mobile devices that they themselves deemed it illegal to engage with while driving...imagine the number of mobile devices in every vehicle on I 35 in St. Paul MN or 401 in Toronto at 1.00pm or so...how many are impulsively going to focus on their device when a false alarm or real one so rudely sound off?...it is illegal to drive distracted, period....why is government transmitting it's "approved" messages to mobile devices when it's illegal to divert attention to? (when driving)
This is a double standard situation in which government is purposely initiating and engaging in an act contrary to public law...either it's illegal to be distracted while driving or not...if it is illegal then the practice of transmitting an emergency alert must stop immediately, or the law must be recindid.

I can disable it no problem...but the legal conflict with the process is the issue here...

On my Android: Settings -> Safety & emergency -> Wireless emergency alerts. Then turn off various categories.
