Bidenomics- $90 for a 7” Christmas tree today from the local Boy Scout Troop.

I was paying $30-$40 pre-Trump/Fauci lockdowns up north.
Probably cheaper at Hope Depot or Walmart, but I would never buy one from a store.
I miss the old days going to my grandfathers farm and cutting one down.
Most trees in Florida are grown up north and trucked down….

There are cut your own tree farms down here in the Tampa bay /central Florida area, but I personally don’t like the varieties I’m familiar with that grow here. At least the native varieties are rather bushy when smaller. Not filled out at all. I’d imagine in north Florida and the panhandle the northern varieties may fare a bit better, but the heat and salt is brutal on them.

Before I married I’d decorate the banana tree or Foxtail palm I had outside (corona commercial style) and get a little bitty 3 ft tree…..

I stopped using real trees decades ago after I threw one out and lit it with a lighter and i twas like a bomb. I kept water in the holder and all that and it still got dry. They are very dangerous and all it would take is a spark for a nightmare to unfold. I bought a fake tree but looks very real and has awesome led lights that I can make do many things. Not some cheap walmart/lowes bullshit

In the old days I would agree, but with LED lights it’s a bit different now. I always cut a bit off the end of it to remove the sap buildup/“scarring” and add a little aspirin to the water to avoid the coagulation of the sap on the end stopping water intake ( may be a wife’s tale- who knows)…

I like burning my tree at when we bring it down and it dries up a bit more. Can’t do it all at once here in the beach unless I bring it camping…

That’s a very small tree.

Can't you cut one for free beneath a powerline?

That's $12.85 per inch of height! A 6' tree would run you $925.71, but maybe they'd have a quantity discount for so many inches.
