It's the time bomb none of us realise is waiting to blow up in our faces. Parents raise their kids and look forward to getting them off their hands; retirement beckons and is seen as a reward for years of work but then...old Mum and Dad appear on the scene, living on, and on and on.

You reckon. From what I've gathered "the children" can turn into an elderly parent's nightmare e.g. trying to get them into a home asap.

Paul, I think you misunderstood me. I don't want my children to leave but when they turn 18 that is their choice and they have already made those plans. I offer them nothing but love and advice to the best of my ability, as any responsible parent would. They will always be welcome back home, but I have the responsibility to let them grow and discover themselves and learn from their own mistakes. If they want my advice they will come to me. If they need me, I'll always be there for as long as I'm above ground and still breathing. They know this and it has always been a house of love, integrity and critical thinking about the actions they choose. It's the best I can do, nothing more.
