Trust is the opposite of science. Reminds me of "trust but verify". Trust by definition requires the absence of verification. Science requires verification (reproducibility).
Both are guilty of the Appeal to Authority fallacy. If the plans aren't a clear cut roadmap that involve efforts from you or your peers, then it's not one you want to be a part of.
