So what. My new truck cost twice as much as back then, or more. Everything has doubled, including my income. The only people suffering are those who haven’t grown their own value and worth over all these years.
Besides the third world-ization of many products and even commodities, I'd like to add on to why this boomer is an idiot:
The tweet in question says that prices have more than tripled, not doubled.
The sticker price does not take into account how items have literally shrunk over the years.
Remember when interest rates were like 0% for years and years? Yeah, turns out that makes turning money into more money more difficult when you're not some kike banker gambling other people's money with no consequence.
The housing market resembles futures more than it does real estate at this point.
The real value of college degrees, including in STEM fields, dropped off a cliff about a decade ago.
I could go on but I won't. And I say this as someone that not only started a business in this mess of a timeline, but a successful business with employees.
Nobody needs to diminish how awesome it is that you built your own business. You worked hard. But half of the reason this shit they're pulling works is because the effects become sublimated to class disputes within the country getting raped. It becomes an opportunity for wealthier people to boast about how much they're unaffected by the changes to the economy, and then people bitch and moan about the wealthier people, and the wealthier people call the complainers poor. So on and so forth. You can point out the rape taking place without having to admit it is harming you - or rather, without having to act like it doesn't exist because you make a lot of money. That's a bit like saying that a flood isn't a problem because you're really tall.
Fair enough. I do recognize that there are a lot of people who just do what they do, in their chosen profession and they are damn good at it, and they love it as well, who are wrongly affected by a lot of this stuff. However, there’s a ton of folks living in debt, way outside their means, who no matter what comes down the pike, they complain. When the complaining starts, it’s mostly those folks already living on the edge.

If you look at it objectively, you can trace most of their problems back to poor choices they made. Accepting 'modern society' as a way to live is one of the most common. As a gateway, that often leads to people moving on to wage slavery. Then, they spend their lives financing their oppressors who take a cut of their productivity.
I have family members on social security who are telling me that they should be getting a 20% COLA. Some asshole at work told me that inflation is so high because the COLA was about 9% last year even though inflation was like 30%. I told him that the hundreds of billions of dollars Biden has sent to Ukraine could have gone into helping the homeless, military veterans, disabled and elderly. He shut up real quick and tried to change the subject.
I don't even want to think about how much is being spent on all the "asylum seekers" they're transporting everywhere and putting up in hotels and giving them phones and cash.
Yep, I get my "health care" from the VA. But my wife has medicare and a supplement, they always increase more that our COLA. Not to mention home and car insurance.
