In the UK you can essentially be 'arrested for your own protection'

If you are in a situation where, were it not for the police standing there you would have gotten attacked, and then you cause that sentiment to increase to the point where your actions are going to cause a bigger issue, drag a bunch of officers off the line and crucially, threaten to turn a rowdy group of people into a riot, you will get carted off.
