We're already in a Great Depression - how long will it take for the normies to accept and realize it?

submitted by FuckShitJesus to whatever 4 monthsDec 23, 2023 10:25:51 ago (+11/-2)     (whatever)

Walking through a grocery store is non-stop normie sheep bitching about the price of everything.

With zero self awareness.

They're calling it the "Silent Depression".

Some guy on TikTok took the "percentage of your wage" for food, rent, home ownership and some other standard expenses. It was roughly twice as much of your paycheck if not more nowadays than in the Great Depression.

Edit shit MSM article from quick search: https://archive.vn/pICI1

Even worse, the Great Recession was also a Great Depression, and still no one wants to admit that. A depression isn't simply a recession, but super duper bad. A depression is when a recession lasts for over 3 consecutive quarters of growth. Now...how long did the Great Recession last? I would argue from 2008 to 2018ish. Then we had 2 years of a merely decent economy, and now we're back to this bullshit. Except worse, because the printing presses went "Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" and something like over half of all U.S. dollars ever printed were printed in the last 2 years.

The reason clown world can even exist is simply because of all the free money (((they))) have been printing, and that's starting to go away. Finally, FFS.

Last I heard it was 8 out of 10.

I saw a headline linked off of one of the articles someone posted here within the last few days that said that if you made 500k per day, every day since the building of the pyramids then you would have the amount of money the US borrowed over the last year. I don't know if that's true and the fact that it's at least plausible should lend some perspective.

Either they stop printing money and the reckoning happens, or they keep printing money and the reckoning still happens. The reckoning is happening...

Pyramids were sometimes around 2500 BC. 4500 x 365 x 500K = ~821 billion. That puts a trillion into perspective.

A decline in national GDP is a recession. A depression is two consecutive financial quarters (1/2 of a year in recessions) in decline of national GDP.
The west dropped into a depression after covid lockdowns and hasn't come out of it. 2019 saw the single largest exchange of wealth form the middle class to the ultra-rich in human recorded history. Covid debt from lockdowns, covid debt to pharmaceutical companies, mass migration have all contributed to the absolute blistering cost in living and drop in living standards unequivocally.

Economists were talking about this before the lockdown say it is mostly unrecoverable. All of them were called racists, sexists, etc.

national GDP

The rest of your comment is great, but I want to focus in on the specific part I quoted, because people really don't understand the importance of your use of the word "national" to qualify a specific sort of GDP.

Before we had (((economists))), we had actual economists, and those actual economists never used GDP, but, rather, GNP. GDP = Gross Domestic Product. GNP = Gross National Product. You should never have to say "national GDP". You should just used GNP.

Why the (((change))) from GNP to GDP? Mass...fucking...immigration...

A spic crosses the boarder and works for a period of time and "produces some product", but he aint a part of this nation, yet he is domiciled here, or put another way, is a domestic....so he produces a domestic product with his labor. Here's the bitch of it though...he sends as much of it back to Mexico as he possibly can. So we can have the GDP grow and grow and grow, but it doesn't mean it's helping our GNP at all. But why would (((they))) care? This isn't (((their))) nation anyways, is it...?

[ - ] UncleDoug 1 point 4 monthsDec 24, 2023 18:15:18 ago (+1/-0)

It probably would be more accurate to state it as negative growth in domestic product that your nation makes.

Why the (((change))) from GNP to GDP? Mass...fucking...immigration...

Pretty much.

Too many sheep.

[ - ] Panic 0 points 4 monthsDec 23, 2023 21:16:24 ago (+0/-0)

These sheep as you call them are real human beings living their lives the best they know how. They do no harm and they are not evil. Cut them some slack. We can't all be great philosphers and movie stars like yourself. Every philosopher and every movie star requires an audience. These so called sheep are YOUR audience, oh great one. Empathy is in order.

You miss the point entirely.

Just like a sheep would.

We're not there just yet. Until I see someone I know homeless or managers losing their jobs left and right because they're fucking useless, then I'll agree with you.

Depends on where you live, but people are mostly living off credit and it's getting properly tapped out.

[ - ] Panic 0 points 4 monthsDec 23, 2023 21:19:21 ago (+0/-0)

Oh, so it's not a national depression until you say so. Got it.
