Killer kite strings made with glue and glass shards - Brazil

They're called cerol in Brazil, and used for kite battles. The string is run through glue, then crushed glass shards. The game is to cut the other kites string with yours.

However, it's often motorcycle and scooter riders that catch the string when the kite falls. Last one I saw took the head right off at the neck, still wearing the helmet. This guy is lucky to be alive, although not quite as lucky as he'd want.

I seem to remember a video posted some while back showing people being slashed by kite strings. Pretty sure it was India.

Glass coated kite string acts like a wire saw when it catches you while you're moving.

I've seen one motorcyclists head lying on the road after catching one. Must have been pretty gruesome for the parents of those kids.

It's technically illegal to buy it in India, but they say it's not enforced much. It's pretty common in those places.

It seems that way, but it's likely the string slid down across the bone and peeled the face off.
