I lived in Alaska and learned eagles are just garbage scavengers. Until my neighbor took her dachshund out to do its constitutional. An eagle swooped down and grabbed that little dog up and flew away. I can still remember the scene. She was running around screaming, with that little dogs yapping fading in the distance. That was sad. At the time I didn’t care. I’m a big dog kind of guy. But my Wife loves the little yappers. I have one now, now I know why that lady was running around screaming, eagles man.

It's not just the great north that has that issue.

Knew a dude who lived in the foothills outside the greater Sacramento metro area. They're out having a barbeque.

To the horror of both the hosts and guests, a Golden Eagle swoops down and snatches up Fritz, the wife's wiener dog, in front of everybody and flies off into the distance carrying his prize.

Some folks don't realize how red nature is in tooth and claw until they experience it for themselves :)

The biggest Bald Eagle I've ever seen was in Wyoming in the Grand Tetons and it was trying to lift off with an antelope and it was getting airborne but couldn't hold it but would not give up...and I'm thinking to myself that a fucking bird that big would have no problem taking a guy off a bike...this vid would have been real interesting if that little toxoplasmosis monster somehow found it's way outside the vehicle.

We used to hunt caribou on the island. The other side of adak. One time a couple sailors thought it would be funny to lure an eagle with a caribou carcass. They tossed it in the air, an eagle swooped down and latched on to it. It fell fast but then it spread its wings and flew away with it. A 60 pound carcass. Word got out and mothers started watching their children. Eagles man!
