I watched a video yesterday on the timeline and how it was done. Apparently, level 29 was considered unbeatable because, using the NES controller like a normal human, the player cannot get the shapes to either end of the board. Then someone figured out how to use the controller in a weird way to overcame this obstacle. That reached its limit, then someone came up with an even more bizarre way to manipulate the controller which I don't even understand.

To me that's cheating. Still is impressive but also cheating. Unless they make it a separate competition with normal play and then another competition using a method to cheat the controller into giving you more button presses.
