It was a bigger death sentence when I was going to public school. This was during the days of the race riots! I had classes in Jr High, 35+ kids, I was ONE of Three white kids in the class! Maybe 15% of the whole school was white. I was slated to go the the district High School after Jr, High. The old man said hell no, and I landed in a Catholic school. It was an eye opening experience. I didn't know that it was even possible to walk the halls without being blindsiding by a fist. My head was on a swivel for the first 3 months I was in the Catholic school.

Why have nostalgia for a time that you can conclusively prove led to this? I'd have nostalgia for the 70s if, in the 70s, people actually did something to avoid what we have now.
