Here here! Here's a tip I've learned recently. Baby mattresses are cheaper than dog beds. Used couches are cheaper than cat palaces.

Also, we got an apolstering stapler and it's amazing what you can with an old couch.

I have a cat(he's tabby also and that's his name to boot), he's 22 now, still has all his own teeth, still goes out hunting, this last year he has slowed down and it's been the only year that he hasn't bought me squirrels and pigeons etc. We have moved half a dozen times in his lifetime and he's never run away. We have had numerous large dogs and he's always ruled them, our present 2 are too big for him and he's too old now to slap them about quite as much, he doesn't take any shit from them though but he does run away sometimes when both of them decide it's play time lol. He's an awesome cat.

Curious questions. Did get him vaxxed ever? What food do you feed him? When he catches the squirrels and such, does he get to eat them?

To have a 22 year old cat and having moved a bunch is quite interesting. Very nice.

He's actually only ever been to the vets twice in his life, one was got vaccination when we first had him as a kitten, he's only ever had the jabs once, no boosters at all. The second time was after a squirrel fight, it gave him a huge cut that was very deep on his skull and about 1.5 inches long.

Food, he loves raw (my dogs are fed raw) but his diet has always been whiskas, only likes the fish type in jelly, personally I think all mainstream cat food(also dog food) is utter crap but raw is too rich for him and he's too old to change now, he gets some weekly as a treat. He always eats the squirrels heads before he brings them home lol, I would happily let him eat then he's just never bothered apart from the head.

Holy shit, 22 is a good long life for a cat. Althea is only two. I have another one that's pushing 14 years, which is getting up there. I hope she's around as long as your Tabby has been.

Yes, it is a good age. I don't think he will go on for years and years, but he had been an amazing cat, always ruled the territory wherever we moved to. He's happy and still goes out for probably 3 to 4 hours a day(it's cold here presently), in the summer we only see him at bedtime or feed time. He's really never been ill in any way in terms of general illness.

Total lover. Her favorite place to hang out is on my lap. She was the runt of her litter and the last one to get adopted. Runts are always trouble, but she's not more trouble than she's worth.

I lost a calico last year. She was 15. She somehow ended up a diabetic. She was doing great until she went into a diabetic coma. I thought we were doing everything right but it sucked ass. We could never get her blood sugar stable, no matter what.

I had to make the decision in the afternoon to let her go after she had been in the hospital most of the day. For the first 8 years she was a hunter. She hauled a possum home once. Damn thing was double her size and I never did find it's head. She definitely had a sense of humor about things.

Dude that sucks, I'm sorry to hear that. I lost my little white cat named Judy to lung cancer. We made the decision to have her put down, but she died that night before. She was my friend. Found her on a job site living under a modular home and ended up bringing her home. She was a beautiful cat to the end. She was only about seven.
