When my daughter was a young teen, she loathed my music, nothing I listened to was cool. (Springsteen et. al.) One day I'm downstairs in the man cave, at my computer listening to The Smiths "Panic". She says DAD What is that, She instantly loved the Smiths. So much so, that she asked to borrow the CD, "The very Best of The Smiths", She started listening to a lot more of my music, that was day she developed an appreciation for 80's music, not all of it, but Dad's music became much Cooler.
Bruce is not Jewish, He's Catholic: (But I hear is Agent is)
Early life
Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen was born at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey, on September 23, 1949.[6] He is of Dutch, Irish and Italian descent.[7] He grew up Catholic in Freehold, New Jersey. His mother, Adele Ann (née Zerilli; born 1925), was originally from the Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.[8] She worked as a legal secretary and was the main breadwinner in the family.[9] His father, Douglas Frederick "Dutch" Springsteen (1924–1998),[10][11] worked various jobs such as a bus driver.[10] His father had mental health issues throughout his life, which worsened in his later years.[12] Springsteen has two younger sisters named Virginia and Pamela (born c. 1962). The latter had a brief acting career, but left to pursue photography and later took photos for his albums Human Touch, Lucky Town, and The Ghost of Tom Joad.[13]
Did you see the subliminal image in the motorcycle (above the word INTRUDER.UA) at the end of the video?? (Look closely at the top half of the motorcycle.)
Also, Their sound is very close to Dire Straights especially at 1:18
The rules were to choose a song to represent GenX, nothing was said about it being restricted to '65-'80. I digress, your thread, your rules. I still think the song represents the X'er experience well.
No worries, I'll include it. Like I said earlier, it has a Dire Straits vibe. So. it's all good. I'm going to turn in for the night! Thanks for contributing.
Nice, I'm going to turn these into a VOAT playlist somehow once we get a sufficient response. I loved so much of what these boys put out! They were mind-blowing! I regret never seeing them in concert.

Great Choice!, A lot of their early stuff was amazing! "Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love" (1978), "Jamie's' Crying" (1978), "Where Have All the Good Times Gone!" (1982), "And the Cradle will rock" (1980), "(Oh) Pretty Woman" (1982) and on, and on, and on...

Neat Tune! The girls liked to dance to it. They would come and take that beer out of your hands, and drag you to the dance floor. Adam Ant seemed like he should have been a bigger star in the 80's.

Released in 1989, - missed GenX by about 4 years.
