Pretty good. They have a massive prison industrial complex going, as desired. The black market has increased gun crime substantially, which helps them lobby against an armed citizenry. The black market also stifles treatment, so they keep more of the population hooked and complacent.

While banning private gun sales won't stop them, it certainly will serve their ulterior motives.
