Thanks Sector2, I had to slow down the video and watch it a couple of times. I was expecting that he got sucked into the round pipe. Just sucked him straight down, never had a chance.

There's probably a term for the vacuum created by an opening in a pipe with a high flow rate. Not venturi though.

What's interesting is whatever pressure there is, water doesn't spew out of the opening because the 'down-pipe vacuum effect' is so much greater.
