Go look it up. Educate yourself. As a young man I had a simplistic view of Japanese internment too. Understanding the Niihau incident made me understand how 'Freedom loving Americans' could round people up and put them in camps. In fact the Japanese-American citizens proved they were not trustworthy and would instantly rise up to assist the Japanese army. This was not conjecture... it happened.

The Japs had just decimated Pearl Harbor on a Sunday Morning. American Germans were being called back to Germany to fight Americans in the European Theater. Americans were worried that the Japanese, who were entrenched in the West were going to launch an attack from inside America. Its not that hard to put together, but that would go against your Meme. ALSO: Pearl Harbor only went through because of a Dick Measuring contest. There was open dialogue going between the two countries but DC wasn't talking to anyone because they were, well the Meme above.
