That is true. So many people say "what is the point of marriage?" and others say "oh, I can always get a divorce." People don't seem to get that marriage isn't about you. It is about creating a stable environment for children where the immediate personal wants of adults don't interrupt their development.

That used to be what being an adult meant. You don't matter, your children do. If that mindset hasn't hit yet you are actually a child who happens to have children. That's why it is ok to tell adults no, you can't have a divorce. Because you are an adult who can be held to their obligations when they affects more than you.

Divorce doesn't just nullify one marriage. It nullifies all marriage because marriage where divorce is a capacity isn't a marriage. Also if the government married you you aren't married. We really need separation of marriage and state. We don't have government baptizing people. You could imagine a world where the government said "we need to be involved in baptism because we need birth records."

Women lie to an unbelievable degree. I know this from so much time spent around them. They lie so much they aren't even aware of it. They lie so much they don't even recognize reality anymore.

At one time my social group was about eighty percent women. Every single one of them had been abused. Then their stories would change to one up each other and win the Most Abused prize. When I pointed it out to them they would get shocked and not even remember telling a different story before.

A woman could tell me water's wet and I'd think that's bullshit. and the fact that she has no kids and never will is why she is so miserable. My sympathies to any poor sap that ends up with her.

You can have kids without having a legal contract that involves the state.

I’m married as hell, coming up on 28 years. Never had kids. My wife’s uterus is built in such a way that docs had told her she can’t conceive. I knew that going in, still we married. The docs were right, I’ve been nutting in her for almost three decades.

And it was always about forming a family. Even political and business marriages were still based on the idea of strengthening a partnership via the bonds of family.
