You're speaking from a myopic and defiantly obtuse perspective on the nature of 'saving' another if by doing so you insist on imposing your religious ideology on their personal crisis situation.
It's a predatorial behavior and by pursuing this strategy, you're demanding the encounter be about you, not them.

I'm approaching from a position that if I'm genuinely interested in helping a stranger in crisis that I need to identify and recognize their emotional and rational perspective in order to render assistance.
If I am a believer, it is upon me to embody the principles my faith exalts - not to browbeat others with my dogmatic view of their decisions.

The truth of your approach is in it's reception, if they saw you as rendering genuine aid, they would express gratitude but they don't - they block you.
